When I get something in my mind, I'm going to do it or die trying. I'm very determined. Brayden gets this very honest from me. I called Nemours back this afternoon and talked with the same lady I talked with yesterday about AVT. During our conversation about waiting list and other places that may be able to take him in.....she stops and says, "What is he needing AVT/speech therapy for?" I said "He has cochlear implants and is delayed in his speech." She then says, "OOOOHHHH....that's a whole other ball game." "Within the month you WILL have an appt." "Hold on, let me talk with the director." I jumped off the couch I was so excited. After being told yesterday that speech therapy was booked up until March. The director was busy, so I left my phone number so she could call me back with an appt. I couldn't stop smiling and I was soooooo happy! About an hour later I got a call back from the director herself. She said, "I noticed in the system you have an appt. with the doc tomorrow afternoon." "I also noticed that you live out of state, I thought it would be easiest and save you time if I made his appt. tomorrow before his appt. with the surgeon." :o) That sounds great to me! Thank you so much! Moral of the story....tell the receptionist your son has COCHLEAR IMPLANTS! Duuuuuuhhhhhhh Mom!
We'll be meeting with the AV therapist at 2 pm for evaluations and then at 3pm with the surgeon to check his head. God is great! Thank you Lord!
