Not what I expected......

Yesterday I gave Bray his first concerta. Wow....within about an hour he was so quiet. He didn't talk...he just sat there. Timmy and Bray went to town to pick up a bed for my Nana in the truck. Nana said when she tickled him he smiled, but went back to his zombieish state. The boys come home and Bray wanted to finish cutting down the tree we were working on the day before. Problem, it was raining! He was bound and determined he was going to cut down that tree. We tried to make him come inside and he just sat at the doorway of the garage looking at the tree. Strange, Bray doesn't like rain. Even stranger that 5 mins. later I look out the door and he's standing in the rain with a hooded jacket on moving tree branches. Very not like Bray. He was like in super focus on that tree. He sat outside for nearly 6 hours in the garage just looking at that tree or sneaking out to try to pile it up. Timmy went out and made him come inside....he wasn't happy. We got a flash back of about 2 yrs. ago. He found a stick and beat the freezer, the table, and the ground with it. Screaming at the top of his lungs in a scream I've never heard before. We couldn't calm him down. I let Timmy handle it, I didn't want to get caught up in all that again. 2 yrs. earlier he was on Riperdal and Methylin and freaked out after 6 months on the meds. He got so angry one day he got a baseball bat and hit me with it a few times. Timmy finally got him to come in and sit down. The littlest thing would set him off though. He would go back to that weird screaming and get so mad he would clinch his fist and shake. This is all what I was afraid of. I gave him the med at 9am and by 5pm it had started wearing off. It's suppose to be a 12 hours release. Once the med. wore off Bray returned to his usual playful self. I asked him what was wrong earlier and all he would say is he was mad. I got that one loud and clear son! I've decided that I'm not going to give him anymore through the holiday break. I'd rather have a happy and easy going break then one dealing with Bray freaking out due to a medication. I'd much rather deal with him having a bit of an attention issue than him turning into the hulk. I'm freaked out by the results of just the first day. After break and a call to the doc we'll see if we try the med. again. I don't like that side of Bray and it's nearly impossible to deal with him in that state.

Today he is fine. He is playing and happy. Bray and Mackenzee are getting along. He's been pretty calm.
